The European Commission answered the question by Willy Meyer, MEP from the United Left, saying that "the decision of the regional authorities of Madrid, putting indirectly questioned the existence of a breach of EU rules on environment by bringing an action before national courts and its decision to continue the work under way in the section 2 of the M-501 are inconsistent with the proposal to those authorities which formed the basis for not resorting temporarily to the Court of the European Communities. "In the letter, the Commission emphatically asserts that" in these circumstances, the Committee decided at its meeting on June 26, 2008 to proceed without delay before this court. "

Ends the raising campaign to pay bail of the M-501
24 July 2008, byEcologistas en Acción gives concluded the campaign raising 500,000 euros to stop construction of the M-501. The organization appreciates the support and cooperation received from thousands of citizens and regrets that the roller fait accompli has been imposed for the moment to legality and justice. Despite this, the pulse with the regional government, has been a success. Repayment of loans will begin next Monday July 28.
