On Falluja Resistance

Today, November 9, 2004, the
West gets news of the US attack against Falluja. One can talk
about its legality, although the previous attacks and the 2003
aggression against Iraq were all illegal. One can talk about
the suffering of Iraquis, although UN sanctions have meant
genocide for them since the 90s. One can condemn the use of disproportionate
force by the US military during this attack, but what is the
point of renewed worldwide condemnation? US voters knew about
torture in Abu Ghraib, the lies that justified the war and widespread
abuses during the occupation, and still they supported Bush's
policies on November 2.
All has been said already.
No more words are needed. Courageous individuals may go to Iraq
and join the Resistance. The rest can at least support the Resistance.
When there is no justice in sight, people vent their anger wishing
the Resistance wins at the end of the day. People mitigate their
pain hoping Resistance fighters make invaders pay for their crimes.
Finally there is room to celebrate
Falluja heroes and even to find some joy in the midst of horror:
Falluja dresses up this morning
with the blood of its martyrs.
Falluja lits up tonight with the glowing faces of its heroes.
Falluja quivers with the actions of the insurgents.
Falluja is the bedrock of a worldwide Intifada.
Falluja!
Each one of your martyrs is
a symbol for everyone.
Each one of your fighters is like an elder brother.
Each one of your bullets is a present for the ailing people.
Each day of Resistance is a thousand years of dignity.
