RESOLUTION ABOUT THE N.A.T.O.

The Referendum which passed by minimal majority in the year 1986 empowered the Spanish State to be integrated in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, but not in its military structure, nor authorize him to permit the storage and transport of nuclear weapons in its territory and territorial waters. To obviate this conditions of the Referendum and to integrate Spain fully in its military organization is to violate the democratic will of the Spanish people.

The Communist Party of the Valencian Country (PCPV) reports with severity the intolerable and antidemocratic abuse which the full integration in the NATO supposes, and declares that the only democratic possibility to modify the condition which passed by popular consultation is the convocation of a Referendum to verify the position of the Spanish people in regard of this theme which importance is so fundamental for Spain and the rest of the world. Moreover, we express our full repulse to the advertisement of the starting of the Military Bases of Saragossa and Torrejon.

From the PCPV, we do a call to every democratic and progressive forces in order to they express their repulse to the increasing of the arms politics which the government of the Popular Party (PP) achieves.
