No data privacy for top torturers
Welcome to the webspace "No data privacy for top torturers", a webspace opened by Nodo50 to compile and broadcast all the information about how the APD (Data Protection Agency) is trying to censor the ACT (Asociacion Against the Torture) reports about torture in Spain.
The censhorship attempt began the 8th of March by two inspectors of the Data Protection Agency http://www.ag-protecciondatos.es came to Nodo50 to check how the information was stored. It later on lead to that they threatened Nodo50 with a 50-100 million pesetas fine if the pages were not removed. The response came quickly; many providers all over the world wanted to mirror the pages and support Nodo50 in its work to defend the right to let organizations debate torture in Spain. LA AGENCIA DE PROTECCION DE DATOS RESUELVE SANCIONAR A LA ASOCIACION CONTRA LA TORTURA CON 60 MILLONES DE PESETAS DE MULTA Carta de la APD a diferentes Agencias de Protección de Datos para intentar cerrar los mirrors de lás páginas de la ACT censuradas en el Estado Español. El miércoles 8 de marzo dos inspectores de la Agencia de Protección de Datos se presentaron en el local de Nodo50 con la intención de investigar una denuncia contra la web de la Asociación Contra la Tortura http://www.nodo50.org/actortura donde se publican los informes de la ACT sobre las denuncias por torturas contra funcionarios públicos.
La Agencia de Proteccion de Datos quiere evitar que estos datos sean de conocimiento publico...
