Ecological & Social aim • Volunteers taking part in the North/South centralised exchange programme (Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and Asia) must be at least 21 years old. Exceptions (20 years old) will be limited and dealt with on an individual basis, taking into account volunteer’s level of experience. • They must participate in the full preparation and orientation programme, done by SCI-Ecosfera. • They should have previous experience of attending an SCI workcamp dealing with Ecological issues. . An exception maybe done in cases where a volunteer has had other community and ecological work experience credited. • They should be involved in SCI-Ecosfera and be familiar with its activities, know something of the history of the organisation and have an appreciation of the international nature of SCI. • They should preferably also be active in some development work or issues and not be merely a member. They should have a commitment to North / South equality and solidarity. • They should demonstrate an intention to remain active in SCI-Ecosfera on their return. • All volunteers must be familiar with, and in general support of the SCI-Ecosfera green document. • And be fluent in the appropriate language. Working Group of SCI-SIV Madrid, branch belonging to the International NGO Service Civil International Ecosfera works in a voluntary and compromise way about Ecosystems that in Spain or around the World could be in emergency situation, and where the actions of ecological and social groups can stop and avoid a possible end of them and indiginous cultures that still survive inside.
