The Serbia Assembly Thursday
reviewed the document brought to Belgrade by European Union
envoy, Finnish President Martti
Ahtisaari, and special Russian presidential envoy for the Balkans
Viktor Chernomyrdin, and adopted
the following decision:
1. The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia adopts the document
for reaching peace, brought by ranking representatives of the European
Union and Russia, Finnish President Martti Ahtisaari and special envoy
of
President of the Russian Federation Boris Yeltsin Viktor Chernomyrdin.
2. The document reaffirms the sovereignty and territorial integrity of
our
country.
3. The document reaffirms the role of the United Nations.
4. The document is, above all, a basis for peace.

Belgrade, June 3 (Tanjug - abridged) - Yugoslav government on a session
on Thursday, presided over by the Prime Minister Momir Bulatovic
supported a decision of the Serbian national Assembly to adopt a peace
proposal by Russian special envoy to Yugoslavia Victor Chernomyrdin
and Finnish president and the UE and UN envoy Marrti Ahtisaari.
Federal government has adopted a peace proposal by the envoys of the
Russian Federation and the European Union since it guarantees the
sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia,
disables a terrorist and separatist activity and halts the aggression on
our
country, the suffering of the civilians and demolishing of the national
treasure. Federal government estimates to be of especial importance that
the decision is being transferred to the United Nations, on the basis of
the
UN Charter.
Such a decision is another confirm of the constant orientation of the
Federal Republic of Yugoslavia for peace, stability and solving of all
the
problems by the peaceful means, Federal ministry of information
announced.
