ALL PSYCHO-SOCIAL CARE SERVICES IN CASTILLA - LA MANCHA ATTENTION AND BACKING FOR ABUSED WOMEN Those victims of physical and/or psychological violence from their partners, boyfriends, husbands, ex-husbands or ex-boyfriends get psycho-social support, help, mentoring and monitoring. Women victims of gender violence are attended on Tuesdays and Thursdays (call for an appointment). They also offer awareness and prevention activities: workout on conflict resolution with high school students or information campaigns aimed at several collectives. PROCEDURES IN CASE OF MISTREATMENT 1. Ask for help at the Women Center, Social Services Center or the caseworker which is closest to your home. 2. If you have been injuried, you must go to the doctor, health centre or hospital emergency care. Ask for a copy of the medical examination report. 3. If you've suffered sexual assault, you have to apply also an specific review when a risk of pregnancy and / or sexually transmitted disease could exist and you must ask advice about the matter. 4. You must denounce these facts in Guardia Civil station, Local/National Police station or court guard. You have to provide as possible as you can all the information about the circumstances under which the assault occurred, without concealing or omitting details. You must point out if you've suffered abuse before. Ask for a copy of the complaint. 5. Ask in Court Guard for protection and the estrangement of the aggressor (Protective Order), which may be dictated by the Consultant judge. 6. If you stay at home, take necessary precautions. Start by changing locks, changing your phone number, denouncing any harassment by the aggressor... And if you go to family home, the house of a friend, or a shelter, don´t give addresses nor trust in "attempts of reconciliation after repentance". You will find help. MOREOVER... 7. If you are in danger, you can leave the family home without loss of rights, within 30 days you must request interim measures, or demand for separation in court. 8. If you can´t go back to your home and you have nowhere to go, you can ask for help. Police or Civil Guard will accompany you to collect your personal belongings and they will inform you about shelters and emergency centres where you will be housed and if you have children, you can bring them with you. 9. When you leave home, you must seek to bring with you: familiar ID book, ID card, passport and healthcare card, your payroll and the payroll of the person which you lived with, income tax forms, passbook savings and credit cards, money, keys , medical reports, clothes, medicines, your school certificate and / or your children school certificates, address book, work visas and work permits (if you don´t have Spanish nationality), property deeds, driver license ... SPECIAL ATTENTION TO MINORS If you have children, abuse also affect them, and the professionals who are attending you, they have to assess the condition in which your children are (health care, schooling). In the same way, they are affected by equal legal action arising from your family situation: regime of parental visits or banning them, alimony pensions, social protection, etc.. There are specific resources for children, you can go there to seek information or specialized care: Caseworkers Social Welfare Provincial Delegations´ Juvenile Department Mental Health Child and Youth Mental Health Units Schools´ multidisciplinary teams. |
