Los days 26, 27 and 28 of April will take place in Pamplona the Ministerial Seminar of Energy that, together with other meetings of European leaders in diverse cities of the State, it is framed inside the current Spanish presidency of the European Union.

     Con occasion of this presidency and before the meeting that will take place in our city, from the Forum Iruña 2.002 have some things that to outline.

     En first place believes that the European Union, responds to the interests of the big European capitals for the expansion of the production and distribution to great scale, and it stops its to impel it as world economic power.

     La European Union responds to a development model based on the production and continued consumption, in the growing displacements of people and goods, the industrialized agriculture, the liberalization of the markets, the labor deregulation, the cuttings of the social expenses, the privatization of companies, the control of wide areas of the planet, the Europe strength", the environmental degradation, the financial speculation..., in summary a model based exclusively on the economic growth and in the creation of having bought by the whole planet and in most of the facets of our lives.

     La European Union is, because, together with the IMF, World Bank, G-8... an agent more than it impels the economic globalization.

Model      Este of development is totally dependent of immense quantities of mainly fossil energy, not renewable, dangerous and pollutant located in other areas of the planet that it is necessary to control.

     Además, the liberalization of this market supposes that the energy is more a merchandise in hands of big companies whose objective is the control of this strategic market.

     Las consequences of this growing consumption of energy is more and more evident: contamination that contributes to the effect hothouse and the sour rains, radio-active residuals, exhaustion of the fossil resources, danger of the nuclear energy and of the natural gas, control and looting of those important areas as for the energy (Gulf, Afghanistan, Colombia..), and lastly the centralization of this resource in some few hands (Repsol, Iberdrola, Endesa, BP Amoco, Shell...).

     En Europe this logical productivista and competitive it is taking to the construction of numerous infrastructures with a strong environmental and social impact.

     La construction of the trans-European nets that suppose thousands of kilometers of railcars and freeways, and of high-speed trains; the construction of thousands of kilometers of gaseoductos and of new thermal power stations; the potenciación of the nuclear energy... ,entre other projects, they will suppose a profundización of this impact.

Our      En earth meets with the construction of two thermal power stations in Navarrese and four more in Bizkaia next to a regasificadora in the superpuerto, and the incineradoras construction like that of Zabalgarbi. It is bet by the expansion of the cities and for big infrastructures of transport (amplification of the superpuerto of Bilbo, amplification of the port of Pasaia, train high-speed, new railcars and beats, escalation of the air traffic...).

     Además is sought to build macroembalses like it is the case of Itoitz or the recrecimiento of Yesa, bound to the trasvases, with the potenciar intention the industrial agriculture, the expansion urbanística in the coast, the massive tourism and the wild leisure as it is the construction of golf fields (in Navarrese there is foreseen 4 in dry areas as the Riverside)

     Ante all this unconscious madness based on the economic benefit, from the Forum Iruña 2.002 bet for another logic that keeps in mind the necessities of all the inhabitants and towns of this planet, for the respect to the environment and for the power of decision of the communities on their existence conditions.

     Creemos that it is necessary to brake the territorial imbalance and to stop the growth desmesurado of the cities, to restate the growing production and the consumption desaforado, to reduce the frantic mobility, to give priority to the local thing and the environments of vicinity and proximity, rediscovering the autonomy and the quality of the places, to bet for a decentralized energy model, based on the saving and the efficient use of clean and renewable energy.

     Creemos that the social thing, the cultural thing and the ecological thing should prevail on the benefit and the neoliberal expansion, recovering the society like a human hábitat of relationship and I don't eat an opportunity for the business.
