Three Iraqi children arrive
in Spain to undergo medical treatment at Madrid La Paz Hospital
within the frame of the Spanish Campaign for Lifting the Sanctions
on Iraq

Thanks to this program,
initiated in January 1996, more than one hundred and twenty Iraqi
children suffering from cardiac, traumatology, and ophthalmology
problems have received medical treatment at different hospitals
throughout Spain
On Wednesday October 10th, three Iraqi children accompanied
by their mothers will arrive at Madrid-Barajas airport from Amman
(Jordan) on a regular flight scheduled to arrive at 12:40 p.m..
The children will undergo medical surgery to treat cardiac congenital
malformations. The initiative is part of the Health Care Program
for Iraqi Children launched by the Arab Cause Solidarity Committee
in 1996 within the framework of the Spanish Campaign for Lifting
the Sanctions on Iraq (SCLSI). The three children had previously
undergone palliative treatment at the same hospital a few years
ago. They will undergo a second surgical procedure in order to
complete their treatment and final recovery.
The children are Sama Jasem, 15 years old; Fadwa
Mohammad, 8 years old; and Mohammad Samir Hasun (5
years old)
Thanks to this program, initiated in January 1996, more than

cities of Madrid, Alicante, Oviedo, Málaga and Bilbao.
They have also received treatment at the Barraquer Centre of
Ophtalmology in Barcelona.
