Promotion:

Objective: to inform and educate about HIV/AIDS through methods of communication (radio programs and written documents) that can reach a large group of people including rural communities that are difficult to access.

Functions:• Development and execution of programs, radio ads, interviews, and reports through Radio Victoria and Radio San Pedro.• Maintenance of the Web Page.• Writing of articles for the Boletín Abriendo Brecha• To teach new members of the programs about radio technology and reporting.• Continual improvement of radio program formats and themes in order to increase the number of radio listeners and explore new topics, themes, and ideas.• Support of the rest of the CoCoSI programs.

Accompaniment:

Objetive : to both visit and support those living with HIV/AIDS and fight for the observance of the right of people living with HIV/AIDS.

Functions:• Support of those living with HIV/AIDS develop their abilities so that they can support themselves.• To influence public and private institutions to comply with the right of those living with HIV/AIDS.• Work with the Groupo de Autoayuda – GAAP, facilitating workshops where those living with HIV/AIDS can increase their confidence and self esteem.• Promotion of the familial and community integration of those living with HIV/AIDS through domestic visits.• Support of the rest of the CoCoSI programs.

Education:

Objetive : to facilitate workshops which promote changes in attitudes of youth and adults about the relations between men and women, health, and sexual and reproductive rights.

Functions:• To facilitate educational workshops: talleres, encuentros, foros, festivals, masses, etc.• Design of simple, effective materials and revision of the workshop guides.• To improve coordination with and identification of collaborators: invite them to participate in CoCoSI events or at other events which CoCoSI has been invited to.• Increase the knowledge of members of CoCoSI concerning issues pertaining to HIV/AIDS transmission, prevention, workshop themes, etc.• Support of the rest of the CoCoSI programs.

Theater/Plays:

This is an area that is in charge of educating in a different way, through plays and skits. This is a form of educating people, and, at the same time, entertaining them. The plays are always infused with educational themes of CoCoSI and are all aimed to reach the entire population.
