PORQUE ESTAMOS EN EL ZOCALOEl gobernador José Murat ha desatado una campaña de mentiras en contra de las organizaciones independientes que nos encontramos manifestándonos en el zócalo de Oaxaca; difama lo que hacemos pero no dice porque lo hacemos.Desde hace varios años los trabajadores del sindicato de trabajadores de los tres poderes han estado luchando por democratizarlo e independizarlo de las imposiciones autoritarias del gobierno del estado. Finalmente, mediante una elección democrática la gran mayoría de los trabajadores nombra al actual comité ejecutivo encabezado por Oliverio Neri, el cual consigue una ventajosa revisión de las condiciones de trabajo y se niega a someterse al autoritarismo dictatorial e intromisión en la vida del sindicato de José Murat. la reacción del gobernador tirano no se hace esperar y después de los chantajes y amenazas no logran doblegar la voluntad del comité ejecutivo, le inventan delitos a Oliverio Neri para finalmente meterlo a la cárcel y mantenerlo ahí hasta la fecha, inventando nuevos delitos cada vez que los defensores van ganando proceso. Dnte tanta injusticia y violación de la constitución, la ley Federal del Trabajo, los códigos penales y los derechos humanos de Neri y demás miembros del comité ejecutivo por parte del gobernador del estado, los trabajadores del sindicato de los tres poderes se lanzan a la lucha en las calles haciendo uso de su derecho constitucional a la libre manifestación y expresión de sus ideas, lucha a la que se adhieren el frente nacional en Defensa de la Soberanía y Derechos del pueblo (FRENDESPED), el comité de Defensa Ciudadana (CODECI) y el Consejo Indígena Popular de Oaxaca "Ricardo Flores Magón" (CIPO-RFM). después de meses de estar pidiendo que el gobernador del estado recibiera a una comisión para buscar una solución el conflicto, solo recibieron negativas y amenazas, por lo que el 9 de junio se toman de manera pacifica las oficinas de gobierno. el 12 de junio José Murat manda reprimir con más de 1000 granaderos, gases lacrimógenos y perros de ataque, con tal brutalidad y odio como desde hace muchos años no se veía en nuestro estado, ensañándose con los niños y las mujeres indígenas que se encontraban frente al palacio de regencia, resultando 11 personas heridas y cuatro de gravedad: violeta Jerónimo de 17 años, Estela Santiago José de 15 años, Norma Santiago Eufrasio de 15 años, Irma Santiago Juan de 30 años, Domitilo Toledo pacheco de 53 años, Lucina Carrillo Jerónimo de 52 años, Elizabeth González Hernández de 54 años, Alejandro Morales ramos de 46 años, Vidal Puerto Mendoza Velasco de 22 años, Francisca Salas Martínez de 58 años, Dionisia Regules Joaquín de 26 años, conforme las averiguaciones previas: 577/HC/2003, 706/CH/2003 y 802/CR/2003. 6 desaparecidos: Fortunato Sánchez Rosales, Urbano Ojeda Alavés de la comunidad de Santa María Lavani, Agapito González Ramón, Armando Ramón Pereda de la comunidad de Cacahuatal; Bernardo Ramos Velasco, Trinidad Pura Ojeda de la comunidad de Santiago Jocotepec y 2 mujeres y 2 hombres encarcelados: Teresa Moran Olmedo, Norberta Torres Pereda, Flavio Reyes Matías y Ciro Mendoza Lupe. Esta brutal represión indignó al pueblo de Oaxaca y al país entero, por lo que a partir del 13 de junio, las organizaciones que firmamos nos incorporamos a luchar en contra de la represión que el gobernador del Estado de Oaxaca, José Murat Casab pretende instaurar como respuesta a los reclamos y necesidades de los trabajadores y pueblos más pobres de Oaxaca. Los últimos acontecimientos están dejando ver quienes están con el pueblo y quienes están del lado de gobierno. los reaccionarios , comerciantes y empresarios, los ricos pues, aplaudieron la brutalidad contra las mujeres y niños indígenas, junto con los medios de comunicación identificados con los priistas y panistas. los partidos y organizaciones que han guardado silencio ante la brutal represión y se han mantenido al margen de esta lucha que intenta mantener vivos los derechos humanos y constitucionales de nuestros pueblos, se han convertido en cómplices vergonzosos de los tiranos que nos gobiernan. July 2003 WHY WE ARE IN THE ZOCALO The Governor, José Murat Casab, has unleashed a campaign of lies against the independent organisations that can be found here, protesting in the central square of Oaxaca; denouncing what we do but never commenting on why we are driven to do it. For several years, members of the State workers union have been fighting to democratise the union and make it independent from the authoritarian orders of the State Government. Eventually a democratic election was held in which the large majority of the workers named the current executive committee headed by Oliverio Neri. Neri managed a beneficial revision of work conditions and refused to submit to the dictatorial authoritarianism and interference in the union life by José Murat. The reaction of the tyrannical governor - blackmail and threats - was swift but did not succeed in folding the will of the executive committee. Crimes by Oliverio Neri were invented to finally put him in prison and keep him there indefinitely with new crimes being made up each time the defence lawyers seek a way to prove him innocent. Faced with such injustice and violations of the constitution, the Federal Employment law, the Penal Codes and the human rights of Neri and other members of the executive committee by the state governor, the workers of the union are here in the streets exercising their the constitutional right to free speech and expression of ideas. This fight that is supported by the National Front in Defence of Sovereignty and the Rights of the People (FRENDESPED), the Committee of the Citizens Defence (CODECI) and the Popular Indigenous Council of Oaxaca - "Ricardo Flores Magon" (CIPO-RFM). After months of asking the State Governor to receive a Commission to look for a solution to the conflict, all that has been received is further threats. Consequently on the 9 June 2003, these groups peacefully took over the government offices. On the 12 June, José Murat sent 1000 soldiers, employing tears gas, guard dogs and a brutality that was never before seen in our state. The indigenous women and children found in front of the Regency Palace were treated brutally, resulting in 11 people injured and of which gravely so. Six people have disappeared: Fortunato Sánchez Rosales, Urbano Ojeda Alavés from the Santa María Lavani community; Agapito González Ramón, Armando Ramón Pereda from the Cacahuatal community; Bernardo Ramos Velasco, Trinidad Pura Ojeda from the Santiago Jocotepec community Two people have been imprisoned: Teresa Moran Olmedo, Norberta Torres Pereda, Flavio Reyes Matías and Ciro Mendoza Lupe. This brutal repression enraged the people of Oaxaca and the rest of the country and as of 13 June, the organisations signed below have joined together to fight against the repression that José Murat Casab is trying to establish as an answer to the needs of the workers and poorest villages of Oaxaca. The latest events highlight those that stand with the people and those on the side of the government. The rich reactionaries and businessmen applauded the brutality against women and children, and the "means for communication" identified with PRI and PAN supporters. The parties and organisations that have kept silent in the face of this brutal repression and have stayed on the sidelines of this struggle to keep alive the constitutional and human rights of our people, has become shameful accomplices of the tyrants that govern us.
