The Caracas valley is crossed from east to west by the Guaire River, which in the past was a source of inspiration for painters and poets. Exactly at the center of this valley, on the coast of Guaire, is the San Agustin neighborhood, divided into southern and northern parts by the river. There, in the southern San Agustin is located the Casa Cultural Alameda, in the Avenida Ruiz Pineda s/n, in front of the Jefatura Civil.

This is the point where the brigadsist will find the person in charge of them, who will collect the endorsement of the association to which they belong or with which they have participated.

This person will also inform the brigadists about the possible contacts with other neighborhoods or organizations, the tasks or works which are necessary, or the cultural calendar of the neighborhood. The philosophy of the brigades is not to create any dependence neither with the community nor with the brigadists.

It is compulsory not to lend money neither to make any other assistencialistic act. It is also not welcome to make promises to the community which will not be able to be fulfilled.

The brigadists should have in San Agustin a reference place, but it must not be their epicenter. Each brigade will act depending on their political, social or cultural interests. In Venezuela their political work must not be predefined or guided, according to the circumstances each brigade will obtain certain contacts and will develop its own ones.

Living in the hill, it will be the task of the brigadists to adapt in order to get to know the social missions as well as the Venezuelan reality. The mutual respect and the solidarity will be basic rules for the brigadists. The rules of La Casa Cultural Alameda must be accepted without objections, since the community, as hostess, is the one in charge of the security and to guide the activities.

The Casa Cultural Alameda, as a way of self-management and in order to maintain the spaces of the brigadists, has decided to ask the brigadists for a contribution of 10.000 Bs per day. .
